About Us

Picture
We represent publishers that provide effective literacy solutions for the diverse classroom in both English and Spanish.  Some of the materials were developed by Texas teachers to reflect the children in our community.  Materials are aligned to the TEKS, the ELPS and link to science, social studies and math for a comprehensive approach.  Texts are leveled by Guided Reading (F & P), DRA, and Lexile when appropriate.
There are solutions and systems for RtI small group interventions, Summer School, Bilingual, Dual Language, Parental Involvement, Independent reading and audio assisted reading for fluency and vocabulary.
The team of Ellen Sankowski, Meghan Sankowski and Erika Wood work with districts in ESC – 3,4,5,6,13,20, the Houston, Austin, San Antonio triangle.

The Team

Picture
Meghan Sankowski grew up loving school, and playing teacher as much as possible.  So much so that she owes quite a few teachers an apology for trying to run their classroom.  It was no surprise to anyone that she ended up studying education.  She has 15 years teaching experience, most of those in extremely high-need schools.

Meghan is a trained Reading Recovery teacher; ESL certified and attributes that training to strengthening her knowledge base of literacy instruction.  Her greatest joy is teaching our youngest learners to read.  She loves pulling small groups, and seeing the tremendous boost in confidence when a student realizes they can read.  Now an independent sales representative and literacy consultant, she misses certain things about the classroom, but loves the flexibility to impact students and teachers in a different way.

Ellen Sankowski has worked with schools for 18 years to supply leveled material and staff development for schools.  She prefers to work with  districts in a collaborative manner  to help them make the best choice for their students  than trying to sell isolated resources.

After graduating from Southwest Texas in 1984, now known as Texas State University, Erika Wood worked as a Pre-k and Kindergarten teacher up until 1995.  In 1995, she was offered an opportunity with Rigby and Steck Vaughn working with Reading Recovery leveled material.  She has been working in the publishing industry ever since and now lives on the San Marcos River.

Erika’s passion is working with people. She was actively involved in PTA as a Board Member for over 17 years. l. She truly believes students need the right resources to excel and reading starts at an early age with parental involvement. She looks forward to working with Educators in Region 13 and Region 20.
